Childe Hassam and Celia Thaxter's Island Gardens Inspirations

A few years ago I created a few 4x5" paintings based on those of American Impressionist Childe Hassam, when he frequented the Isles of Shoals and Celia Thaxter tended her beloved flower gardens. I added a few details to those paintings, based on Island lore or just a personal touch. Currently not for sale, yet. I'm just enjoying them for a while : )

Based on Moonlight, 1907, by Childe Hassam, and the legend of the woman in white, haunting Appledore Island while awaiting the return of her husband, Blackbeard.
